Hello all, I'm returning to Live after a couple years. I have a new DAC (MOTU Audio Express) and I can't seem to get an input signal. I can hear it through the monitors and I can load clips into Live and hear them back. I can also get an input signal fine while using Sonar. I have the input configuration, driver type, device all set up according to the instructions and I tried every possible input on the individual track but still nothing. There must be something obvious that I am missing but I can't fathom what it is. Thanks,
Steve

Have you tried setting the Monitor to "In"????

I was about to come in and say no shit, because a DAC(Digital-to-Analog Converter) is only output. XD
What you have there is a regular I/O with AD/DA...
Anyway bullshiting aside, try what KB420 said, and make sure you have the correct input selected on the track.

Yep, the monitor is set to 'in'. I also tried every configuration of the input/audio from setting, master, ext in etc...no go...

Re: New DAC no input signal
Well for some reason the xlr/trs combo jacks (inputs 1 and 2) don't work but I got it working in the straight trs jacks (inputs 3 and 4) The condenser mic doesn't work in the xlr inputs either (phantom is on) but I can hear it thru the monitors. There must be some quirk with the motu. I think I'll check on their forum...thanks
