Best settings for correcting tempo and rendering an AIFF?

Post by subterFUSE » Tue Jan 03, 2012 12:37 pm

I would like some suggestions for the following scenario:

I purchase an AIFF file of a music track intended for DJ use. Upon inspection, I discover that the original AIFF file has a slightly fluctuating tempo throughout.
Therefore I decide to use Ableton Live to warp the track and correct the changing tempo to a constant tempo.

If I start off with a AIFF 16 bit 44,100 audio file, and I want to ensure that the Rendered AIFF file is as close to the original in quality as possible.... which settings should I use to render?

Currently, I am using the following:

Rendered Track = Track 1 (Inside track 1 I leave the volume at 0 dB, and apply no FX or other processing)
Normalize = Off
As Loop = Off
File Type = AIFF
Mono = Off
Sample Rate = 44100
Bit Depth = 16
Dither = No Dither
Analysis = Off

I think the majority of my settings are probably correct. The one which I am a bit confused about it Dither.
Should I be using dithering when I render my audio file?
Are there any other recommendations or things I might be overlooking?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
