Taking apart an APC40 to repaint?

Post by MetaphOracle » Thu Jan 05, 2012 3:30 am

Was wondering if anyones attempted this? I'd like to paint the face-plate myself and was curious as to how hard/easy the process is. I'm well aware that it will void the warranty, so please spare me the comment.

Im curious as to how hard it would be to keep the veloctiy pads/lights/buttons from going everywhere and if theyre tough to get back in place. Any experience or tips welcome, cheers :)

Usually the actual pads of these types of controllers are all joined together in one big sheet, with the actual button mechanisms below them soldered to the main board. So it's really not going to be an issue to 'keep them all together' as you say.

Its tricky to open for the first time, but there are some tutorials on the web that will show you how. It has very minimal parts inside.
