I'm using Ableton Live 8.2.2 for a few week, and I got a problem with midi sync and song position pointer.
I'm in a band configuration. Our drummer has a BOSS DR-660 connected as master clock to ableton. He also can start the samples and sequences in live via the DR-660.
As long as he starts from de first bar (1.1.1), this is working, the sync is perfect. But when he scrolls to bar 4.1.1 for example, and hit "start", ableton and the DR-660 are unsynced.
In fact, i discovered some of a weird behaviour in Live : when you hit "stop" and "reset" on the DR-660, Live jumps correctly to the bar 1.1.1. After that, 2 solutions :
- You want to start the song from this positiion (1.1.1), in this case, the sync is OK
- You want to start from a different positiion in the song (example : 4.1.1). You change the bar on the drum machine DR-660, Live understands that well and jumps to 4.1.1 and waits for your "start" signal. But when you press "start", you're not in sync, and it's like Live didn't wait my "start" order and begun to play "silently".
I cannot explain the problem in another way. Any help would be appreciated
