Audio Clips Volume Envelope into Impulse

Post by Instrumental Asylum » Sat Jan 07, 2012 1:15 am

When you edit an audio clip, there is a special dialogue for volume envelope which shows a red line. When chopping drums, this volume envelope is necessary to get my drums the way I want them to sound. However, when I put them into impulses, all envelope changes do not transfer over (I'm pretty sure warp marker changes don't transfer either, but that's ok). Now is it possible to keep the envelope when they go into impulse or even drum rack. Also, I don't want a complicated workaround liek exporting individual drum sounds.

You could freeze and flatten the track containing the drum sounds for which you've automated the volume changes, and then drag the resulting audio clips into Impulse. Does that do what you're talking about?

Thanks, that did exactly what I wanted it to, but is there a way to just freeze one clip in the track instead of an entire audio track? With limited screen room I use as few audio tracks as possible, and I don't want to flatten out everything.
