hi,

working on my live template with a padkontrol (+farmpad) and midistroke,

I'd like to have the main encoder to sends an up/down command, to navigate in the browser.

but I'm unable to make it work, the encoder sending the same command when turned left or right...

anyway to handle this?

I tried with "nothing", "-1" and "1" in the value parameter, but without any success..

perhaps is it a problem using the encoder with farmpad, as it sets the encoder to send values between 0 and 127...

anyone managed this?

cheers

Hello,
Midistroke is great and really helps navigating, creating shortcuts. the only limitation (for me) is that you can not use it with two devices. Any update on that?
Thank you

You could use something like MIDI Patch Bay to combine multiple devices' MIDI into one IAC bus.

I'm not planning on implementing any new features in midiStroke in the near future. The only reason I can see updating it is if an OS update breaks it or something like that.

I know having to also fire up MIDI Patch Bay will be a pain, but it's your best bet for right now. I did open source the project if you know any developers who have some time on their hands... - Charlie

Midi patch bay is as great as midistroke ! And both work well together (make sure to start Midi patch first, at least it work better for me this way).

In terms of starting multiple programs it is not a problem when you create an automator script. It is a great way to quickly launch everything as well as setting up your environment (set volume, select specific sound card, wait 2 secs to make sure everything is open before you start live...). After that use spaces or desktops to open Live in one and the other applications in a second space/desktop.

it is also interesting to use a simple software to let you know about all these midi messages going on...

Thanks for these two great software and advices,
