sustain pedal setup

Post by poohbear » Mon Jan 09, 2012 2:10 pm

I have an M-audio SP-2 with an AKAI MPK49. When I try to map the CC it says it is 0. From other discussions I know that it is supposed to be CC64. I have tried both polarity settings on the pedal. Also I am not 100% what I am mapping it to. I am doing reverb on EIC grand piano because I can't find a logical sustain to link it to. Any help?

CC64 is a dedicated CC for the sustain pedal. On your keyboard itself you want to set the foot pedal to CC64 which should make that pedal act as a sustain (or hold) in any instrument that supports a sustain pedal.

The 0 you are seeing may be what amount it last sent from cc#64. Does it change when you hit the pedal? I'm sure that if you download documentation for your controller you can make sure it is programmed to taste.

I configured the Akai for CC64 and sustain and it worked! It seems like akai should have had that as the default set-up.... Thanks for the help!
