Hey, I'm trying to learn Live and audio production for some electronic hip hop music, electro, trance, house, techno.
So what i'm looking for is some super duper great free Live tutorials. Easy to understand, somewhat thorough, and practical uses in which to use effects. Also i would like to learn tutorials for things like layering kick drums, how to use grain delay, how to make the most of such and such.
Thanks! Anthony

Re: What is bussing?
bussing is when you route the audio from multiple tracks to a "buss" track in order to apply effects to those sounds as a whole. Basically, you would be doing this to avoid putting those effects on each individual track, as it makes more sense to run them together on a buss to avoid redundancy, or to compress elements together for cohesiveness.
As per kick layering tutorials, this is a good one, with a free layering rack included.

Re: What is bussing?
A return track is a type if buss. Your Master track is also a buss, in that it sums multiple audio sources together. There are many uses and reasons for using bussing. Some folks like to sum all their drums to one buss, vocals to another, and pads, guitars, etc. This allows you to control levels of those elements collectively. With a very high track count that can really help. It also makes it easy to export stems. Sometimes a buss might only serve a utility function, such as keying the sidechain of an effect on another track, and the output isn't monitored or routed to the master fader.Happy Tony wrote:thanks, would that be like putting audio or midi to a return track. or what are other instances is such "bussing" occurring?
