I'm working in Live 8 and recording tons of MIDI clips that require the sustain pedal on my controller. The problem is, it seems that if I don't push down the pedal at precisely the right moment at the beginning of the clip, the MIDI info doesn't get recorded and then I have to deal with trying to overdub pedal info which is just a mess. Is there an easy way to do this, or maybe manually write in the pedal info the way you can with writing in notes? Thanks so much, and sorry if this is a ridiculously basic question. It's not an easy one to google an answer to, it seems/
Thanks!

Re: MIDI/ Sustain Pedal Woes
You can indeed manually draw an automation envelope for the pedal, but consider recording a bar of silence, starting on the second bar, adjusting the automation for the first beat, then trimming the clip. Easier than drawing it all manually, I think

Of Course! Thank you! I was so busy cursing and throwing a temper tantrum, I didn't even think of that! One day I'll mature past pre-school, I swear it!
