right, I hope more companies start making analogue gear for such prices. I am always wondering why Kore does not re-make or re-vamp the MS20. Seems like a no brainer.

perhaps it's not to the interests of everyone, but I quite like the new multi-pattern condenser version of the SE 2200a

because I am a cheapskate and I'm after a couple of multi-purpose utility mics (mid-side / vocal / room / podcasting ).

I was looking forward to the usual Spectrasonics announcements and demos, but appraently they are no longer presenting new products or updates at NAMM! Too bad:

So no Spectrasonics, no Ableton, no NI. Most of the stuff I'm interested in seeing announcements from no longer do NAMM. I'll guess I'll just have to work at work.

Akai are going to look like right gits when the iPad 3 comes out in a few months in an ever so slightly different form factor, rendering it incompatible with the new MPC Fly.

I was thinking the same thing! It will certainly be slightly different form, it always is. They're saying the ipad 3 will actually be just slightly thicker due a different type of screen.

I'm not even sure what to do with that MPC turntable controller. Are you supposed to DJ or make beats with it?

I guess it's cool to integrate a trigger controller and decks for people who do a lot of triggering, since you can put it in one box.

From Twitter:
New @Akai_Pro MPC model list prices: Renaissance: $1299; Studio $599; Fly $299. Guess I have to say farewell to my 2000XL! #NAMM

A $1300 MIDI controller, I can't wait.

And based on this minus VAT, looks like the MAX49 will be $399.

Suck it, Akai.

And the MPC Fly has a grand total of three effects. A delay, a bitcrusher and a compressor.

I think I'll just plug in my MPK Mini and use Beatmaker...

I've been an sE fanboy for years; have two original 2200a's which I picked up seven years ago for around $100 each(when very few people knew or gave a shit about sE). I recorded my first 10" with them(vocals/ac. guitar). This new version two is a no-brainer.
