Anybody using BCR2000 or BCF2000 on 64 bit windows ?????

I can't get it working!

I installed the latest drivers for 64 bit windows from behringer's website

Device shows in orange (error?) in Live's MIDI preferences, and no MIDI is received

Not recognized by BCEdit or Firmware updater's device scan function

Device Manager reports device working correctly.

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi,

I have both of them running under Windows 7 - 64bit
(BCF2000 in Mackie Mode hooked up via USB, BCR daisychained via MIDI)

In the Device Manager for instance the BCF is shown under "Sound, video and game controllers" as "BCF2000". In properties Windows says driver version 6.1.7601.17514.
You should see a "1.10" in the display while booting up the BCs (BCR or BCF) - so you know that you have the latest firmware.

Following issues I can think of:

1) How do you have the BCs connected? - Via USB or MIDI.
For instance if you have the BCR hooked up via USB only, the BCR should be set to an U-Mode (USB Mode)

Example:
You use Preset 2 on your BCR ("P-2" is shown in the display)
1) Press "EDIT" + "STORE" to get into the global edit mode
2) Turn the first encoder on the top row to set the mode to U-1
3) Press "EXIT to exit Global edit mode.


2) Are the BCR and BCF hooked up via a single cable or do you have them daisychained (via MIDI)?
Let me know so I can test the Midi settings in Live with my units and post them.

Search for "BCManager", it is a more up-to-date editor for the BCs with additional function compared to BCEdit.

I'm on win7 64 and had no issues at all with my bcr

I don't think I even installed the behringer drivers, it just worked for me after plugging it in for the first time.

I just now took a look to see what driver it's using and it thinks the device driver is the "Generic USB Audio" Microsoft one.
I've not bothered trying any of the various BCR editors since I moved to win7, so perhaps it will all fall down at that point, but on a basic functional level - no issues.

If I remember correctly using the behringer driver is more important when you are having more than one BC device. It also includes some minor bugfixes.

Hi Thanks for the replies.

So it looks like I should be able to get it working.

On my system in comes up under Sound, video and game controllers as BControl.

I just have a BCR2000 connected via USB

I'm just about to test it out using my old 32 bit machine where I had it working previously.

I will use the 32 bit machine to upgrade to the latest firmware then try it again on the other machine.

Also I'll delete the Behringer 64 bit drivers and see if the windows default drivers work.

It seems that the problem is to do with the USB 3.0 ports on my PC which don't work with the BCR.

The PC has two USB 3 ports and one USB 2 port. When I plug it into the USB 2 port it works fine.

But alas the USB 2 port is dual purpose USB / ESATA port and I really wanted to use that to connect my Lacie d2 Quadra which contains the ableton library and all my project files.

I've got an old USB hub kicking around somewhere so I will try putting that between the USB 3 socket and the BCR.

It might be worth looking to see if there's an additional USB header on your motherboard, in which case you could buy a back panel pci slot breakout. Alternatively - I bet a pci card USB is pretty cheap.

I Should have mentioned it's a laptop - but it has an express card slot so could try an express card usb interface. will check the usb hub idea first though.

Doesn't work with the USB 3.0 ports on my Vaio laptop

Plugged in an express card USB 2.0 port and it's all good!

Yippee!

Now just need to sort out the firewire problem with my Firepod which keeps resetting itself all the time on the built in firewire inerface and suffers clicks and pops whenever the external esata disk drive is accessed heavily - even with the firepod on a TI chipset express card.

even getting clicks and pops on windows and internet audio with this interface.

I Hate Computers !!!! Nothing ever just works !!!! arghhhhh !!!!

If I had twice the money to spend I'd get a MAC.
