How can I transfer complete live sets between computers?

Hi, I wonder if anybody can help, I may have overlooked something but I cannot transfer entire live sets from my laptop to desktop. My laptop hard drive is dying and I need to get my sets backed up. any advice? I'm using windows xp pro, service pack 3 on both machines.

File > Collect All and Save

This will save all the samples for your set into the project folder with the .als - then you can just transfer the project folder across.

The other thing to consider is that you'll need to make sure that you have any vsts you've used in the set on both machines.

ok.... i can't figure this out guys! i've done everything, save a copy, then collect all and save...

yet i can't find the file.

working on a macbook pro.
and it's not saving a project file..

please help!

How about making it a Live Pack? You get there via the file manager window.

First off, you should be looking for a folder, not a file.

Secondly.. where did you 'save' it when you did a 'Collect All and Save' - the folder should be there..

Inside the folder should be your .ALS Ableton project, and another few folders within the initial folder that contain any imported or consolidated samples.

Just copy the whole folder to a removable drive or something and transfer to the other computer.
