So, I just finished this track and saved all my files - as I would do normally - and noticed my mac wanted me to install the latest software update. I closed my project file and installed the update. After I restarted my computer I tried re-opening my project file and noticed all my samples were missing. I performed the file search within ableton and got nothing. I decided to search for them manually and noticed that the samples folder was completely removed.
WTF...how does that just happen? I did a little research and found that the latest update was for iTunes. DAMN IT.. Tried several different file recovery programs, which found one of my samples, but the file ended up being corrupted - it played for 2 seconds and then blasted my ears with white noise.
wish I had time machine on... Any thoughts about how I can resolve this?
Thanks,
Jim

Man that sucks. I don't know what else to say. You have Apple Care still? I think I recall that they can't charge you if you don't have it if they cannot find a solution?
That's the way to go if that's true. You will probably have to be forceful about getting through the tiers to the people who aren't looking at a screen with a tech support search engine on it, but it's worth a shot if the samples are valuable to you.
