The same way you hook up cable to any other computer monitor. YOU DON'T.
I swear keeping our eye on you is a full time job.

Re: iPad
well there must be a simple solution, I need to get cable into and out of that damn 27"monitor if I'm going to get it, you know we all have our quirks
as musicians, for me it's c-span, I gotta have c-span on the monitor while I'm making music.
and I'll have you know Mr. Zeb Ra, that the ipad 3 protocol as we call it around my house has been settled, we're just waiting for that day no not the day jesus comes back a reliable source tells me that that day will take a little longer, I'm talking about the day the ipad 3 is released!!! If only steve would have learned how to bend the time space continuum before he died then I might well already have an ipad 3 but alas we'll have to wait.
still I need to pump cable through that monitor

Re: iPad
Since you're going to ask more questions about questions anyway I'll keep it simple and let you lead the conversation. You can't feed cable directly to the monitor, but you can feed cable to your Mac which will feed it to a connected monitor.starving student wrote:well there must be a simple solution, I need to get cable into and out of that damn 27"monitor if I'm going to get it, you know we all have our quirks

Re: iPad
i assumed there must be an adapter that would hook up to my mac through usb, that I could just plug into the usb port on the monitor, but what best little box would that be ?
Re: iPad

Re: iPad
I have an EyeTV hooked up to my Mini and no cable box in the loop. Because I don’t have a box in the loop I don’t get that many channels. When analog was the standard I got a decent amount but when they changed to the digital standard the amount of channels I get went way down, mostly just basic local channels.

Yeah, sorry. Meant to say that. Limited channels with no box.
What would work is some sort of interface that accepts cable cards.

Let's not forget about the upcoming Apple television.
My head is already spinning trying to predict what questions starv stu is going to ask about that one.

I started using Mint.com awhile back which is an awesome free site that connects to your bank(s) and categorizes your spending so you can analyze, budget, and adjust.
I spent $743 dollars with Apple in the last 3 months and none of it was for hardware.
