HELP! Lost audio clips

I reopened a project i was working on and some of the recorded audio was lost. I went through the recovery check, but they turned up unfindable.

Where did the files go, and how can I get them back?

PS- I moved the set from one project file to another. Not sure which one it was. Does this mean I just have a long day of searching?
