For what, midi files?
Nice idea but unrealistic (considering current, even fastest connections),unpractical, so slow that it is practically useless. Backing up Live project can take several hours.
I deleted it few weeks back.

he's a pro tools guy, no idea how he used it. Either way you're dealing with a ton of data. too bad it didn't work out, seems ideal.

Hi,

I'm Andrew, the community guy at Gobbler.

rikhyray: It would be great to speak with you more about the speeds you're seeing... Gobbler doesn't throttle your bandwidth, so there shouldn't be any limitation to uploads/downloads except for what your ISP will allow. But, in some cases, I've seen this happening. My email addy is andrew at gobbler dot com. Definitely want to look into this so we can get this fixed for you!

Muzik .... We definitely want to get this crash bug that you're experiencing out of the software. If you email me at andrew at gobbler dot com I can get some info from you that will help in getting this fixed.

The goal of our beta is to make a bug-free software that the music community can enjoy. Please keep up the feedback & help us build something great!!!

Andrew

Great to see you care. It is not just internet speed since it worked few times slower then just uploading files to some other services. I suppose there is some more work to be done on the software side. You know, in this biz people use what works. Much to do mostly too less time so no time to bother why something does not work as expected. Live used to be 80% of my studio work, now it is perhaps 20%. Once they fix they issues will surely use it more but till then use other softwares. Same with Gobbler, you get it right, will get back to using it.

Thank you both for reaching back out!

rikhyray: Could you answer the following:

1. where are you located.
2. Could you describe the project files you were trying to send (lots of audio files, how large? etc)
3. What were the speeds that you were experiencing with Gobbler

It would be helpful if you could run a speedtest at speedtest.net to let me know what you are typically getting as far as speed.

Thanks!!!

AR :)

Hi, All.

To be sure, this software has bugs.
However, I think that Gobbler is promising.

Gobbler support these DAW.

I think that a bug will also be corrected and I will become better service supposing the users of Gobbler increase in number.

We have gotten most of the bugs out & have stabilized the core functionality of the software, but yes, there are still some bugs, but that is why we are giving the software away for free right now. We are hoping that awesome users like you guys will give us feedback & hit us with bug reports so that we can build a bug-free product with the features that you want.

We have a super active community of beta users at
community.gobbler.com
If Gobbler isn't working the way that you want it to, we will work hard to fit the software into your workflow :)

Cheers,

Andrew

I would never save my projects on a server somewhere in the world where nobody knows who actually can access my files without my notice. I back up my work at home! No messy cloud service for me. But for some it it surely a nice idea 8)

Totally understand. We definitely don't want to be a replacement for a local backup or hard drives. Gobbler aside, I've suffered a lot of data loss in the past & I personally subscribe to the "It doesn't exist unless it exists in 3 places rule," so if thats 3 hard drives (2 onsite & one off-site)... I'm with it!
