Hi All,
I am a total Live N00b. I just jumped ship last week from Reason 6 + ProTools 10 over to Ableton, and am digging every second of it. I purchased an APC40, and am currently dinking around with the Live 8 Suite Demo until my Live Lite to Suite upgrade arrives on Friday. I'm primarily a composer/producer, but I'd like to get into some DJing too. I realized today that my MBox Mini 3rd Gen won't cut it as the headphone out in it is on the same bus as the main outs. I'm looking at the Traktor Audio 2, and have read a few threads about it from this forum as well as others. I don't need much control since I already have the APC40. All I really need is a 2nd out for cueing. Any opinions on the Traktor Audio 2, and whether or not it can "cut the mustard"?
Thanks much,
Laurence
Live 8 + APC40 + ? Interface ?
Re: Live 8 + APC40 + ? Interface ?
I bought it, have used it a few times and seems to be quite good, nothing better there at that size point as it is supposed to be the worlds smallest pro interface. At least it is optimized for low latency. No XLRs for Studio monitors though. One thing to notice is that it is USB2 sound card. In some computers it just requires different configuration than USB1. It gets under the "enhanced USB host controller" and might end up to different IRQ and have different conflicts than older USB1 interface.LaurenceS wrote:Hi All,

Right on Golemus. I appreciate the courtesy of the reply, and the opinion that follows. Yeah, not so worried about the balanced outs. I just want something with two stereo pairs so I can cue through headphones. Right now I'm using the built in sound card in my laptop and it's a Dell Latitude E6500 and I'm going from the 1/8" headphone out to 1/4" male into my nearfields, so the Traktor Audio 2 could only be better! I'm not even using my MBox Mini. It's back in the box.
Thanks again!

The audio 2 dj is absolutely fine for what your after mate.
I used to carry around my presonus firebox with my APC when Dj'ing - no need for simple a/b mixing.
Audio 2 dj is all you need. simple.

Hi gavgrant,
Once again, I thank you ever so kindly! I was hoping this was gonna be the case. I didn't want to spent $250 when I could just drop $99 and call it good!

Are you selling your Pro tools 10?
