Crashing when using ASIO driver with Novation nio 2 | 4

Hi, I've been trying to trouble shoot Ableton and recently discovered that my software is rendering itself useless when I use ASIO in combination with my Novation nio 2|4 sound card. I am using a Windows 7 based set up and had no previous problems since I used ASIO with this sound card. Any ideas as to what is causing this problem? Or how it can be fixed?

UPDATE: If I turn off inputs from going into Ableton, then everything works fine. However it's not just the ASIO driver causing issues with my sound card, it's anything while inputs are enabled in Ableton.

I have a copy of Live 7 on a windows 7 machine, and a Nio 2|4 that is doing exacttly the same thing - crashing Ableton and my entire Win 7 platform. The machine will not even reboot properly afterwards unless the Nio 2|4 and all other USB devices are unplugged...

I've bought another sound card, so will text that, but if the problem persist I shall be creek and paddle.
