REDUX help..

Post by remcoy » Thu Feb 09, 2012 2:41 pm

What calculation do I use to set the Downsample control to adjust sample rates?

For example, to change the audio down to 32khz (from 44.1) or down to 22khz..
Does a hard setting of 2 result in 22.1khz?
Does 4 get you 11 khz?
Does a soft setting of 1.37 then give you 32khz? or is it 1.33?

Finally, how would I figure something more specific like 31.25khz?

thanks!

I don't think you get what redux is for. It is an effect to make things sound like they came from a Commodore 64.
If you want Live's output to be a specific sample rate -> set it in the preferences.

yeah of course you use it as an effect.

As an effect, I might want to lower the sample rate of the signal as it enters a reverb or delay to simulate a low res digital effect from the 80's. One that might have a 32khz AD converter.

Maybe I want to get the sound of a 22khz sampler.
