Do you have a previous save of the project? If so you can drag the midi track from this straight into your current version.

You could always send the HD to one of these fancy data recovery places or try 'Flip4Mac' on a Mac or the equivalent on windows- the less you've done of saving on the HD the better the chance of recovery.........it can be done,but it's a long shot. I've used Flip4Mac and recovered data successfully.
