Recording an internal sound with Live 8

Hello everybody on this forum

I'm new on this forum and as I didn't find a place where you can introduce yourself, here's a short sum up on who I am and what I am here for. Sure admins will redirect this intro if not in the right place :

I'm a 29 years old french music producer.
I've been into producing for years but as I watch for my money, I used to work on low-price softwares. Things have changed now that I recently got Live 8.
I work on Windows 7.
My main style is Mainstream Hardcore with influences from Enzyme, Neophyte, Traxtorm, and so on...
I'm a completely newbie into Live, so I think I will have many questions, cause when I look into the manual I rarely find the precise points I'm looking for.

So, to start with, here's the first :

How do you proceed if you want to record internal audio from within the PC, just to get some samples (like if you want to grab a sample from a movie you're playing on your PC, or some like that) ?

I tried to fix the in and outs in the menu, select the in/out on the "audio" track where I want my sample to be recorded, load the record button on that track, and start recording, but here's what happens :

Soon as I load the record button of the track, even before starting recording, the vu-metre of that track goes right into the red. We don't hear any sound but it seems like there was a larsen or a buzz that saturate the signal...
Then if I press recording there's like an overdub in the sound, or a delay that makes it quickly unbearable to hear in seconds.
After I pressed stop, you can see a clip that's been added into the track, but there isn't any waveform into it and you can't find back the sample I wanted to record.

I'm not really a newbie into recording an internal source, as I've done that dozens of times before with other softwares. I know about stereo mix and stuff lik that. I tried to proceed my recording with the same parameters on another software and it worked out perfectly, so I can't understand what's wrong with my use of Live...

For how you have it set up, try muting the channel while you record. That will avoid feedback (the audio is coming out of Live at a level. Then immediately routed Into Live. And out and in etc. )

I'm sure there are better ways but I haven't looked into it before. Good luck!

Muting is one way, I always have a an audio lane on "sends only" to record.
Create a new "Audio Track". Click on the IO button open the routing tab. On the input select source. As ouput select "Sends Only". If you have selected "Master" there, the sound will just go out the master and routed to your record track again, as its input is your PC master mixdown (that's the echo).
Record the piece you want, create a new Audio Track, call it "recording 1" and copy&paste the recorded wave into after your done. For a new recodring do the same. I basically have audio tracks for all wave input devices on "Sends only" i use to record and after i have the wave in live i copy it to its final location.
