Re: Live won't kill it's self..on exit (RANT)
i had the same problem while i used emu 0404 usb interface with shitty drivers.
after a crash of live i can't kill the process. mostly a bluescreen follows after trying to kill live process.
new interface and no crashes since a few months
i hope we see a mechanism to protect live itself from crashing. bitwig announced this feature in their daw...
i don't say that you should buy a new interface! live is expensive enough so it's shit that they force us to buy one to get live running ;/

Still waiting on a reply from support, I cannot afford to go and buy a new soundcard, I just spent 250$ on this....
EVERY SINGLE TIME live crashes, I have to reboot my entire system.
Its REALLY pissing me off.

Sorry...no offense...I was just trying to help
I have had to use crack versions myself of programs that I couldn't afford but just had to have, so no offense my friend.
Most companies with good programs don't mind people using crack versions because they often lead to people buying the ligit version as soon as they can afford it. That is if they intend to do serious commercial work.
Even if they don't do serious work but the program is good, they will talk about it in their circles and this could lead to a sale or two.
Did you contact Support directly? They usually reply in a timely manner.

Live also crashes in a monitoring + record. But for folks that still have the intial crash by audio engine problem it is deffinatly the audio card + live...
Suggestion; if you are hard up on getting a new interface theirs always 'referbish or second hand option... buying new seems kind of risky in solving this issue cus you could buy it and have not fix this problem.
Does ableton have a list of suggested audio cards that yelds the best results I wonder. Live version + os verson + audio card.... or like I had suggested years ago if live had a build in diagnostic function!!! It would be less stress for help deskors....

I used to get this problem with great frequency
I've been using my desktop's onboard audio card lately with ASIO4ALL (got my proper interface+laptop set up for voice recording in the bedroom/closet), and knock on wood, I've had far fewer crashes and not as much memory-lingering as I get with my UA25-EX
Interesting, I thought.
