Hello,
I recently bought the Tascam us144 mkII for the ability to record my synth and also to cue tracks on a separate output. I have the drivers installed on my vista pc, with ableton 8 suite. Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to cue on a separate output. I set up the audio output configuration in the prefrences to 1/2 stereo and 3/4 stereo, but still I cannot cue/solo a track to one channel of output. When I set the cue to 1/2 and master to 3/4 I hear both tracks together on both outputs. However, when I set que to 3/4 and master to 1/2 i hear only what is solo/cued enabled on both outputs. I am using the ASIO drivers.
Does anyone have any experience with this interface or the old 144 & Ableton? What driver's are best/ what am I missing? If necessary I might be able to exchange this interface for another one with the ability to cue seperate outputs. Does anyone know of a good interface with this option appx. $150 USD?
Thanks!

I have the same problem...I think the Tascam us-144 is just a piece of garbage...I can't find any solutions but I would look into alesis multimix8 which runs about $150...

Has any of you ever looked into the Tascam's manual? - It's available for download from tascam.com.
That unit has 4 I/Os, two of each are analog, two digital (S/PDIF). The manual doesn't tell, but my guess is that the headphone out is a plain split from the analog out, or - but I wouldn't bet on that - a split from output 1/2 (you can swap which pair is assigned to analog or digital out).

I got it to work with ASIO4ALL.
Set the cue out to 7/8 and the master out to 5/6
