I'm looking to purchase a used Mac off ebay (or new if necessary) for the purpose of running Live to record my Electric Bass.
I've decided on the Apogee One and will be using pedals and an Aguilar Tone Hammer Preamp/DI to sculpt tone. Suffice to say I won't be putting to much of a strain on the Mac and Live.
I will typically only have a track with drum loops playing and some effects on the master bus and of course a track (or two) for my Bass which will probably only have the looper and limiter effect. Again I'm not expecting to put tremendous strain on the machine itself.
Unless I'm mistaken Live is still only 32 bit and isn't ever going to utilize more than 4(?) gigs of ram.
With all that said what spec should I shop around for?
