OK. so I know that I want to make the transition to a live PA performance on ableton, but I simply cant do it on the computer that I'm working with, so I and going to spend my tax return on a new computer. I am pretty helpless with computers as far as anything besides actually making music goes, so I need some help. Here is one that a friend showed me that looks pretty bad ass, http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.RR7AA.001
but I think I want a quad core, right? anyways if you had 800-900 dollars to spend on a laptop what would you snag right now?
thanks folks!

is there any benefit to having a 64 bit computer if you are running live?
Re: Looking into buying a new PC
Quad core is a pretty powerful processor that can meet your almost all the requirements. New processors like corei5/corei7 processors with turbo boost technology are perfoeming very well too.

I was eying the hp 'envy' series all year... but that's double your budget.
