I have a most annoying and truly weird situation with live 8.2.2.
When I open one specific document, Live starts up like this (without playing back anything):
In this state there is nothing going to master channel although channel 1 and 2 route there.
Description:
- When I hit play it crackles like mad and playback is unsteady with cpu somewhere around 100% mostly far above. Working like this is impossible.
In the beginning of the track there is only one instrument (surge VSTi) playing which normally wouldn't consume over 10%.
Hitting stop causes the application to crash and it closes down. However the Live process in windows task-manager cannot be killed for another 5 minutes or so.
This has never happened with any of my live documents before. Other documents can be opened and played back normally.
What I tried already to solve the problem:
- I already reinstalled live, updated/reinstalled audio drivers.
When I switch between several audio drivers (Saffire 6 USB, Scope Fusion Platform and onboard sound AND ASIO4ALL drivers just to make sure) - the error occurs too but with slightly different channels producing that weird signal that shouldn't be there.
I switched off and on all devices. Having only some instruments playing while other are disabled. In the end the behaviour could not be eliminated.
Does anyone have an idea what is going on in my Live?
To me it looks like a driver error but why only in this single doc? Reinstalling/switching between drivers did not help. I would be so thankful for any sharing of experience with this or similar errors. This doc is really one of my coolest tracks.
