LFO Type VST To Automate Parameters Outside A Synth
I've been diving head first into synthesis and I love the effects that are attainable with LFO's...so much so that I want to apply a similar effect to different parameters that are not in a synth. I'd like to be able to use them on drum racks/effects/audio tracks..Is there any VST's that will allow me to do this?

Max4Live has an LFO effect unit that can do that.musicandme wrote:I've been diving head first into synthesis and I love the effects that are attainable with LFO's...so much so that I want to apply a similar effect to different parameters that are not in a synth. I'm running an older version of ableton lite and do not have max
Is it a free upgrade/addition?

Check out these free plugins for midi-LFO:s (I imagine you could midi-map in ableton from these).

Without Max4Live, I don't think there's any straightforward way to put an LFO on a parameter in Live.
There is a non-straightforward way, which is to generate an LFO-type signal on a MIDI CC from some other program (either a plugin or another program entirely) which is routed to a virtual MIDI port and thereby into Live, and then assigning that signal to some parameter using Live's quick MIDI Mapping feature. Obviously it's awkward but for studio work it could be useful.

It is not. Max4Live is a separate product with its own pricing.musicandme wrote:I'm running an older version of ableton lite and do not have maxIs it a free upgrade/addition?

Re: LFO Type VST To Automate Parameters Outside A Synth
Sorry that I only saw the thread now. Our plugin MidiShaper is designed to do exactly that. Every parameter that is visible to Live can be controlled via MidiShaper's 4 LFOs and envelopes.musicandme wrote:I've been diving head first into synthesis and I love the effects that are attainable with LFO's...so much so that I want to apply a similar effect to different parameters that are not in a synth. There is one on my website. Link in sig
You want the standalone one, pipe it into live like it was a hardware midi controller
