Random Midi Automation Gremlin

I am having a problem with weird midi automation that I am not deliberately recording (and is clearly not on the timeline) but which is still performing when I hit play. I am running a softsynth via an external controller, and any changes I make to knob parameters (i.e. cut-off and reso) while the song is playing back are then playing back as automations, even though there are no automations visibly recorded to the track.

Therefore, I have a track whose parameters are wildly going all over the place and I have no way of disabling or resetting them. Please help me!

Check the manual on Clip Envelopes. Clips can record midi automations. I think you can resolve it by turning off Overdub on the top of the screen.

Thanks for that. Turning overdub off fixed it.
