Error - A Serious Problem Has Occurred - Live will shut down
I'm consistently getting the following erorr when I load up a Live project that's going to be a DJ mix:
"A Serious Problem Has Occurred - Live will shut down after this box is closed. Out of memory."
Now, I know the error is basically saying I don't have enough memory to run Live. I've got 100 tracks going (all mp3s) with 2 Waves plugins (and one native Auto Filter) on the master and 2 native Auto Filter plugins as inserts on separate channels. What's got me in a bit of a pickle is how to make this go away so that I'm able to get into the project and save things out in pieces. There's no way in hell remember the order of these tracks and can only remember the order of the first 15. I've got a back up project of this, but it's not even close to the project I have now.
Does anyone have any suggestions how I can get this bastard of an error disappear so I can at least delete some tracks? Is there some form of 'safe mode' that won't load effects so I won't be 'chewing' (even though my CPU is seemingly more than capable) CPU? I'm running a PC - AMD Phenom 9600 Quad Core 2.31 GHz CPU, 3.25 GB RAM (a bit on the low side these days, I know), E-MU Audio Production Studio with kX drivers.

Sounds stupid but send your corrupted file to Abe support, explain your setup and the error, they will exactly tell you whats wrong with it...i did a few times and they always helped me out very quick...

temporarily rename the folder that contains the tunes you have in this project. This way when you load the project live wont be able to find the tracks and wont run out of memory.

If you open a new project, you can also expand the problematic .als file in live's browser and look at the tracks it contains. Drag in the ones you want and create a new project file.
This could also be a solution to your problem.

Thanks for these suggestions. All of these are not bad ideas. I'll give them a whirl and report back.

this one is IMO the best way to find back your work. You'll have a whole set filled with empty clips that still have all their clip and envelope parameters safe. Then you just drag the right sample wave on the right clip to get the clip finally back as it as saved.temporarily rename the folder that contains the tunes you have in this project. This way when you load the project live wont be able to find the tracks and wont run out of memory.
but be sure you wipe a lot of unused clips before saving this new live set so as not to see the same scenario happen again!
cheers
