I found this PDF years ago, and it changed my music taste forever.
And besides the fantastic music, the writing is amazing, a work of love.

about the motorik: the most obvious feature of this beat is the pattern
1&2&3&4&
xxxxxxxx hh
--x---x- snare
xx-xxx-x kick

but what about the accents? in the drums or bass/guitar
in the drums I think that a very important characteristic is the absent of accent, no downbeat

Yeah, Klaus Dinger is one of the heroes of this period. I know Hallogallo pretty well : )
Ive read all what I can find about him and Neu!
But I want to know what you (people of the forum :) ) hear in these rhythms. It seems pretty straightforward, but at the same time, very unique.

Steko - thanks! I've just recently been trying to buy a copy of the book on Amazon, and it now costs a fortune. Can't wait to start reading - Cope's other books (Head-On/Re-Possessed and Modern Antiquarian/Megalithic European) are absolutely tremendous. JapRockSampler too...

Also many thanks for these other links. If anybody wants to hear some contemporary music that overlaps with some of the Neu/K+++trock sound the south coast of England is full of it - Fujiya & Miyagi or Baikonour are really worth a listen.
