One of the guys was straight and one was gay. The tapes got copied and went viral before there was even such a thing and spawned comics, swag, plays, and several unrealized movies.
Part of the movie is tracking down the participants in the arguments and trying to find out their story. They didn’t even know what huge underground celebrities they were.

Raymond and peter - I had the cd in the early 90's. I really want to see that film
Great film, and by the end you actually feel kind of bad for Peter and Raymond and you really find yourself thinking about what you think you know or just as importantly what you don't know about people based on the limited interaction you have with them.

Serious movies...
Come and See - Might have already been mentioned but worth mentioning again. Russian film about the Nazi Belarus massacres/genocide. The man who made the film lived through the Stalingrad siege. It's as uncompromising as they come.
Also, if you haven't seen
Grizzly Man then you're missing out on one of the most awesome darkly funny documentaries ever!
OK most won't think it's funny, but the juxtaposition of Werner Herzog's Teutonic morbid outtake on the nature of life and the happy optimistic mental case grizzly man he's making a movie about's "feel good Californian nature is perfect" outtake is a thing to behold!

Also may have already mentioned this, but
Suck! This is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. Loser band called the "Winners" bass player gets turned into a vampire and they become popular because of her magnetism. I have no idea why this movie flopped? it's tasteless, funny, and has cameos by Alice Cooper, Moby, Iggy Pop, Henry Rollins, and Alex Lifeson of Rush plus Malcom McDowel to name a few.

Awe man, I thought this was a sequel to 21 Jump Street.
And no, not the new dumb one coming out soon as a comedy FFS.

Are you disappointed to find out they aren't focusing on the dramatic excellence of 21 Jump Street?
I read one interview that says it's actually pretty good. I'll at least put it in my Netflix queue.

Just watched Melancholia. One of the most excellent major bummer movies I've ever seen. As a bonus it introduced me to Kirsten Dunst's outstanding knockers. Hello! Where did those come from?

SPOILER ALERT ON MELANCHOLIA: I take one major issue with a particular aspect. If a planet is hurdling towards the earth as it approaches it would black out the sun. The surface facing the earth wouldn’t be fully illuminated, but that makes for better cinema.

I was disappointed in it's simplicity though the cinematography was nice along with the "animated painting" parts; still found it more pretentious but apparently people who've never been depressed before can get some understanding out of it.
Miranda Julys The Future made up for what I expected from it.
But hey I also thought Antichrist was pretentious crap as well.
No problem with any of the actors, though.

I think what helped me was I had no clue what it was going to be about going into it.
I don’t really understand the part 1 and part 2 separations. Did they both really happen and it was a consecutive thing, or was part 1 trying to equate marriage to a death sentence, or something else?
And I really don’t get Kiefer killing himself. If you’re really into astronomy why would you want to miss that event? And as deaths go, a planet smashing into your face would be a pretty instantaneous death, no worries of drawn out agony.

Part 1 was to show Depression. It's supposed to be the happiest day of her life and she's apathetic. The only time she was in her element (the character, not Teefy) and content was when the world was about to end, because it's the most real thing and a cleansing. It's not a bad way to flip it; to those who don't know depression you can equate it to the feeling of the world crashing down so "what's the point of anything", but then when the world actually does come crashing down it's time to shine, because it's purer than anything else in our lives.
Kiefer killing himself showed that he only cared about his pride.
