Recording Live input through FX problems

Post by masterboyle » Sun Jul 03, 2005 4:21 pm

Hi,
I'm trying to bring in an input signal through some FX on one channel and then record the proceessed audio in real time on a seperate track which takes its input from the first. I'm getting a lot of pops and click in the audio. Even if I set the latency very high I still get the same result. I think this happens more with 3rd party FX and less with Live's FX but stilil. This is with only these two tracks in a session, not with a bunch of other stuff going on at the same time.
I'm on a Powerbook 1.25 GHz with 512 MB of Ram live 4.0.4 I think. Audio card is an M-Audio firewire 410.

Thanks,
Brian

I had that problem once. I think I just went ahead and recorded anyway, and later on playback the pops went away somehow. So, maybe try that. Hmmm. Pretty lame advice, eh?

Try sending the track/clip output to a Send where you place the FX

Now set the record Input on another clip from the Send

So you will need two audio tracks (and maybe 1 midi) and the Send

Yeah It seems to work better using the Auxes but there is still some popping...
