It is a foolish company that does not listen to its users demands.
It is a foolish company whose "business model" is not in line to compete, keep its paying customers, and attract new ones.
It is a foolish company that does not keep a finger on the pulse of its users (read their own forums for feedback).

Ableton has never been a foolish company, till now. So I can't adopt your position of 'do nothing, but mock those that speak out.'
No, I don't think that my single voice would change much. But there are thousands of us with the same message.
And letting the subject die because people like you declare it "pissing in the wind" is not in line with my ideals.

cotdagoo: You already know mostly what you'll get with Live 9.. Live 8, with a whole lot more features, fixes, etc..
I truly wish I could say I KNEW that. I really do. But I don't. It's pure, hopeful speculation. But, man, I hope it's right.
I'm wishing they'd just give us a 30 second vid or a feature list or something. I'm just scared for Ableton's future. Like I said,
everyone I collaborate with has already dropped it. I still have it, but I'm having to use Reaper to use the plugins they use when
we collaborate. Reaper's cool and all, and makes great use of all my RAM, but it's not the Ableton I love (that gets opened less and less).

for those playing along at home, yesterday (?) GiveUsLive9 created a thread ranting about Live 9 and it was deleted within minutes.

you saw that, I saw that, H20nly saw it, he posted in it. they're watching very closely.

the forum doesn't represent the user base. you don't think they have the personal e-mail addresses and even phone numbers of top notch artists and Producers around the world? the forum is the ass end of their userbase. c'mon man, think about it.

beat up on Ableton all you want, I'll also benefit from your efforts but IMO this is childish. ugh, apologies to your regular handle for being brash.

Hehe. It will be interesting, but I sure hope Live 9 finishes first.

A friend just told me, "It would be a hilarious surprise if Bitwig IS Live 9, and that that's why Ableton hasn't released anything."
Lol! :D

Um, I didn't start a thread. I posted only in this thread, and my initial post is still there (not deleted). It's currently on page 4 of this thread: right here

Your opinion of my efforts is noted. You are free to have it, and I support you having it, but I must admit that I'm not sure what you hope to gain by telling me that I'm wasting my time.
Yes, it seems I've spent my time here getting resistance, with little support. Perhaps too many have already given up hope and moved on. I dunno. Deadmau5 is currently transitioning to
Cubase... millions of fans watching his livestream know this. Those inspired by him are looking into it now too.

Ah, nice. Oh well, it's true that I don't spend much time on this forum anymore. I'm usually too caught up in my music, which I need to get back to now that I've said my piece.
It was a fun break, even if the response was a bit more negative than I'd hoped for (from fellow users).

To all involved: I have nothing but respect for all of you as fellow musicians. Thanks for caring enough to chime in.
To Ableton: throw us a frickin bone, eh?

I'm not sure why you persist defending technical stagnation. Churn your own butter. Cook your meals over a fire. Ride a horse everywhere. Morse code is good enough right?
Perhaps I simply have no business communicating if I refuse to talk via telegraph. It seems like you are a fanboy, Ableton employee, or employee's family member - I dunno. Irrational loyalty...

My statement is simple. Out of a genuine desire to see Ableton succeed, I say, listen to user demands in order to stay competitive, or lose the users.
I fight for the users!
I think you're exaggerating my comments, i'm not saying let's use sequencers from 1985 or 4 track recorders, i'm just talking about live 8, if that's not enough for you mate.... then consider doing another thing

Its pretty funny to me that someone would start a second account to post stuff like this. Seriously, who gives a shit...if you are a paying customer and want to speak your mind so be it. No need to hide behind a BS name

Naah.

64-bit when?

In Live 9

Live 9 when?

When 64-bit is ready.

(and, as I said earlier, I think that "64-bit is ready" means 64-bit Max too)

Who's stagnating? You think Ableton is? You think they're just sitting around twiddling their thumbs wondering what to do or laughing at us?
Did you consider that they're working hard? Talk is cheap and just an open invitation for people like you to bitch and moan and ask "When? When? When? 64-bit? Curved automation? When?". If they were really worried they'd be doing desparate things like hyping before they should.
You sound ridiculous making demands and giving business advice.
And it's not like they've EVER heard any of this before

In some offense though, Hip Hop drums? For 50$? Ok, it's from another company I can see why there's some justification in that but it is kind of like offering to sell the audience a Pepsi for 10$ a liter when really they've just been looking at their watches waiting for the show to start. Or you could just stfu and make some music. A tired answer for a tired topic.

God not this again. Won't this go away? Jesus why do people think that just because they spend hundreds of pounds on software and equipment and invested hundreds of hours in learning and creating and effectively beta testing unfinished code they have some god given right to be able to speak their minds or remain informed or give any input?? I mean who do they think they are eh? Coming in here with their posts and their comments and their words and their big ideas...eh...EH!!!???

;)
