Creating DJ Mix - Arrangement View Help

Post by JonnyLawless » Fri Apr 13, 2012 2:35 pm

Hi All,

Been using Abelton for a few weeks so a newbie. I have created my first DJ mix in the arrangement view. I have my Global Quantization set to 1 Bar. For some reason in arrangement view the clips are not synced correctly. What I mean is the clips are not snapping to the grid at the next bar for the next clip. I hope that make sense.

I am sure this is simple to solve. If anyone could let me know what setting I need to adjust I would be very greatful.

Thank you for your help.

Practice warping and get used to setting the clip properties. (having even start points and stuff)

Or you can give it a shot with the snap to grid turned off haha

Thank you for getting back to me. All my clips are warped correctly. I know all the basics and have been using the main view to mix without any issues. In the arrangement view when creating a mix and not playing live I can not lock the track to each bar. I have to zoom right in to line them up correctly so they play in time. I just want to know how to set the arrangement view so the next tracks play on the correct bar like in the main window. Thanks.

I have the global quantization set to 1 bar already but it is not locking to the bar in the arrangement view. I have to zoom right in and line the clips manually. There must be a way to correct this?

how did you "create" the mix in Arrangement? Did you record it onto there by playing in Session view? Or did you drag and drop and manually move them around?

I was dragging and dropping the files straight into the arrangement view. I relise now it will be easier just to record a set in the Session View first.

You can drag and drop songs straight into session view as well. Not only that, you can drag drop between them. Select a song in Arrangement view and start dragging it. With the mouse button still held down, hit the tab key, then drop it somewhere.
