Hello,
Have a small problem that is driving me around the bend and has me totally stumped. The other day I played a live show (Laptop + APC40)...everything was fine. Have another show coming up and have been doing some rehearsing using that same setup. Tonight I noticed that the APC was really lagging when I was muting/turning knobs/using faders etc. Sometimes seconds would go by before it responded. I changed sets to the one I played a few days ago. Same problem. I quit, restarted, same thing. Tried different USB cables, different ports. Repaired permissions. Changed buffer size. Tried a new set. Went back to the old set. Tried running Maschine and playing it, no problem, no latency. Hooked up my Traktor X1 to see if I could map that and use it. It appeared in the midi devices but didn't power on. Tried hooking up my OP1 and run that in midi control mode. Same problem, laggy or intermittant use. Added a synth and played it with the OP1 in midi mode. That worked. Tried updating to Live 8.3 from 8.2.2. No use. Running a MBP 17inch OS 10.7.2. The only thing that I've changed between the gig the other day and now was that I unplugged all my USB devices and worked with the laptop in another room for a few hours yesterday. After that is when things went dodgy. So now I'm wondering if it's a USB problem, although Maschine worked, and externals are plugged in and working...some sort of MIDI send/receive issue? It seems to mostly affect faders and muting channels...I can play instruments. Anyone had this problem and could offer advice?
thanks in advance!
Sudden Insane Latency Problem
Re: Sudden Insane Latency Problem
some random ideas...
is your drive fragmented?
did you run low on drive space?
did some driver auto-update itself?
hold down Shift and load a new set, a new, default, blank set will appear.
did you create a midi feedback loop?
try a virus scan?
did the wifi or some accessory kick in?
did you RAM come unseated?
blow away/hide your preferences.cfg file?
