Tipper's incredible bass?

Post by luba0432 » Wed Apr 25, 2012 5:22 am

Anyone have the slightest clue how tipper makes his flawless bass sounds? I'm mainly wanting to make similar noises to the sounds in his songs "puzzle dust" and "chrome splat." If you haven't already, check out tipper he is literally incomprehensibly good at sound design

That is really wild. Try adding more drugs.

^

I thought about this.. That's funny, but not a good answer. Seriously, though.. It sounds like a lot of glitch effects, so I don't know the fuss there. And the bass.. The sub that is just endless. sounds like a plain sine wave to me...

it doesn't sounds incredible to me at all.
modulations, distortions and filtering on midrange sounds and not really deep bass.
this is what poor psytrance producers do an octave higher.
sine ftw!

I have to say every time i read an interview with an artist who i believe make some really interesting bass/mid range bass sounds (as i believe Tipper does amongst others), they always say their favorite bit of kit is a Virus. I've been thinking for a while now to save up and get a Virus Snow and it's articles like these that are tipping me over the edge (pun intended). ;)

I agree !
Massive sounds very much like a 'virus' to me..
(imo that was where they were aiming)
and Absynth goes way beyond..

If you have a control scheme that allows for good immediate control..
and semi-nice audio converters..

I see no reasons to get a hardware virtual analog..
except to save some cpu ..
or if you get it for dirt-cheap..

That's his, "hot shot," production skills! Automating the cutoff on a TI! Lovely...

I need to learn how to be a better marketer.
