We're looking some "remixers"

Post by Teocida » Thu Apr 26, 2012 3:15 pm

Hi everybody!!

The reason of this thread is because my band Corpore is looking some DJs/musicians to want to remix the songs of our last album City of Infinity. Obviously, before someone asks me, we don't pay for this, the crisis... We just find people to collaborate in this project. It isn't necessary you are a professional or an amateur.

This CD will be for downloading. And perhaps, we will pay in order to have it on Spotify. I will send to you the tracks and midi parts if you want. My band is a metal one with electronic parts.

I will upload the video clip Restart here, later. Or you can find it on YouTube.

Thank you all.

Lovin' the "quotation marks" in the thread title. Like remixing is a word that you don't "quite" feel comfortable with.

Seriously though, if a remix is done well, it takes a lot out of the remixer... certainly a few days off his/her life. How will you thank the remixer for all their hours of hard work? As a wise man once said: "the greatest gift a human being can give is their time".

Fair play, you're broke. So probably not very high profile music industry-wise. So there isn't a great deal of professional kudos to be earned from remixing your tunes I'm guessing.

So the question remains: are you guys willing to return the investment of time that a remixer will invest in furthering your career in something approaching a meaningful way? If not, I'd question the people blindly saying yes to this, ahem, "offer". Put the hours into furthering your own careers! Or help someone who really deserves it.

Wouldnt that be entirely up to the quality of the remix?

Not if no f***er ever hears the thing, no.

Plenty of quality never finds it's public, you know...

Forget the paid.. You guys are giving credit right? So if any of us remix your track, and you put it on facebook, spotify, reverbnation, soundclound etc.. it looks like this ---> "track title + band name + Linear Mix "

Right? I mean... we all know.. we are all broke, cept for Lady Gaga.. but. We get credit for our work right?

Maybe I just found him! Are you signed..?

I can get your name out there on ReverbNation if that's what groves your truffles more than paying the rent.

You have a point there... although I feel I should stress that some of my best friends are Iberian Spinal Tappers.
