Anyone have any recommends on how to get this cool sound-on-sound technique that David Gilmore uses? Below is a quick demo using hardware, but I want to get it with Ableton plugins.

How can I get the Gilmore Sound-on-sound effect with Ableton
Re: How can I get the Gilmore Sound-on-sound effect with Ableton
I am having some success, but it's not there yet. Here is the progress so far:
Put a delay with a really long tail on Return A. Strum. Raise the volume to Send A to 100, then lower it to 0. The delay sustains the sound, but not for very long.
I need a much, much longer delay. Simple Delay only goes to 300ms. I need to to sustain for 20 to 30 seconds. Any ideas?

Create a bucket brigade of simple delays in your return track. You can then extend the delay as long as you like by adding more simple delays. Also if simple delay is set to sync 16 rather then time and tempo is low you will get a much longer dealy than 300msec. Eg. Tempo = 20 and sync on 16 will give you 12 sec per simple delay. Not at my computer at the moment so this is just theory but should extend the delay for you.
Additionally you then activate send A effect send and send it to itself and you have infinite sound in sound possibilities like a "frippertronic" 2 tape recorder setup.
To emulate what's happening with that pedal in the video you can use a ping-pong delay with the same techniques as above to extend the delay time (sync and tempo) and then hit the freeze button (F) to grab that loop.

Looper has some cool options for this kind of thing, especially when integrated with delay effects.

you can build this with a racked reverb, map a pedal to the reverbtime and hold.
