Anyone have a Focusrite Saffire 6?? I have a question

Im looking to buy one, it sounds great and very sturdy, good quality for those on a budget. however im just wondering about how simple my 'hypothetical' setup would be:

i want to route my apc to my mac, mac to the focusrite, and have the outs going to my sound system for house parties. from there id probably also set up a mic and possibly my midi keyboard with midi cables. then set up my cue with the headphone jack.

will it be this simple?

Really like my saffire 6, can highly recommend it for what you want to do. Just curious why you wouldnt go for the new 2i2 model ? seems like its in the sameprice range and its usb 2, saffire 6 is 1.1

Saffire 6 is 2 in 4 out, 2i2 is 2 in 2 out.

...and the 2i2 doesn't have midi in/out. Other than that, its a fantastic piece of kit though.

didn't like the saffire 6, as it crapped out sometimes when using it with different applications simultaneously, e.g. playing youtube videos and using ableton. this happened on a macbook with snow leopard.

Ya im thinking the saffire 6 will be better for me down the road; i can use the multiple outputs, and also utilize the midi i/o for my keyboard. thats the second time ive heard of it screwing up though.. i dont plan on using it while having other applications open so if its just cpu useage that makes it screw up i dont think it will be too much of a problem. any other negatives with the saffire?

also, the usb 2, does that just mean faster speeds via the usb? or improved sound quality, etc? i have not looked into the 2l2
