Stutter Edit and APC 40

Hi i was just wondering if there is a way to map the APC40 pads to midi notes to trigger stutter edit effects as apposed to using a midi keyboard?

It Doesn't seem to give me the option to map notes on the piano roll?

Is it possible?

can you not create midi clips to do this?
