Speaking of Ridley Scott and all that... He's now going to make the Blade Runner sequel too...

http://www.deadline.com/2012/05/blade-r ... ed-sequel/

I don't know what to think of this, but I guess Prometheus will give us a pointer. If it's as brilliant as we're all hoping, I guess there's hope for BR2 as well. My first reaction is that it is too risky, though. Will they get Vangelis on board? How's Harrison Ford going to fit in? How could they consider making a sequel without Ford? And... was or was Deckard not a replicant himself?

Did anyone read the book? (the sequel, that is)

I'm impressed by the amount of faith you guys have that a modern big budget sci fi film from a major studio will be anything but a big steaming pile of horse shit.

I'll probably give it chance, but not holding out much hope.

Yeah but...

We just got a big budget superhero film from a major studio that kicked fucking ass, so I've actually got hope.

Plus, it's Ridley.

Let me guess: You're idea of an awesome superhero movie is where out of work Europeans with no superpowers assemble in large public places to protest how the retirement age has been bumped up a mere 18 months in order to try and save the entire economy. After the protest is over they go back to their miserable towerblock flats and brood over the multiple injustices of the world.

Mike Leigh! That's a very nicely inspired choice.

I can also see Vincent Cassel as one of the team. He's just got that whole Uber Proletariat thing going on with his look.

Oh, I think we can all clearly see that I have touched a nerve, even it is by simply claiming to have touched a nerve. Which I have, hence your response.

Your move now to prove to us all that I haven't touched a nerve again.

(Which I have)

You've just encapsulated why Europe has no superheroes. You'd much rather spend your time being butthurt and applying dreadful circular logic than doing any actually asskicking.
