I am importing audio tracks into Live and adding midi tracks to the audio. But a few times now I have brought an audio track in (drag and drop) and when I play the audio a section of it has the BPM slowed/speeded up. The only way I have been able to get the track to play correctly is to shut the WARP off. But when I do that I lose the measures/beats grid in the audio which makes setting timing up a real chore. So either is there a way to get the BPM consistent or get the measures/beats grid to reappear?
Thanks,

Changing BPM
Re: Changing BPM
Use the warp markers.
Re: Changing BPM
many times, you'll have to adjust the results of Live's auto-warp, which usually means resetting the 1.1.1 downbeat. for stuff with strong beats for auto-warp to detect, this is probably all you'll need to do. for further adjustment, you can right-click on the 1.1.1 marker and try a number of options to re-warp from that point. if you still don't get a total fix, you'll need to slide warp markers around while listening back with the metronome on. you're usually able to slam a warp marker where a transient has already been found. most times, you can get away with just placing/adjusting a couple of markers toward the beginning and one more toward the end of the track. to keep your markers with the clip, hit the save button in the Sample panel.
Re: Changing BPM
Also you change the clips default tempo to whatever is your global tempo. as long as those numbers match the audio will sound right.
Re: Changing BPM
Exactly how does one change the default BPM for clip? I know to click and drag up and down but it changes the BPM to odd decimals. How do I enter an exact number? I can't seem to click on the field to enter a precise numb....
Re: Changing BPM
First choose a warp marker. Then you type in the bpm. Anything After that marker will be acknowledged as that bpm with every point which is at .1.1 being the downbeat.
