Using Multiple Midi Controllers to DJ

I am using both an MPC40 and a Launch Pad and I want to assign the launchpad to one section of my "grid" in session view while using the MPC 40 for the bulk of my sets.

The Launchpad will control a grid of effects that only effect one channel of (audio) drum loops. The MPC40 controls everything else.

Does anyone know of a way for me to assign this section of my grid to the launchpad without affecting the MPC40 or all the audio effect chains and programming I have created for the drum loops?

If it's because there's interference when you bind buttons on the LPs Session mode, I'd just User 1 or User 2 mode to do it.
