DJ looking for original Techno
DJ looking for original Techno
Hi!
Im a DJ looking for tips on techno artists. Would be very happy for any tips,
as ive been out of the DJ biz for a while. I like it a bit rough and a bit dark,
lofi or hifi, not to funky or groovy. A strong atmosphere, a plot and personality
is important. Im not looking for clasic detroit or chicago styles. But euro styles
with a creative experimental touch. Or just something original. Any kind of chese
is not interesting.
I like some of Boris Brejcha's stuf, but it is just a little bit to funky for me.
If he's tracks didnt have such a heavy swing quantise, and was a bit colder
in general, they would be perfect.

yo - can't check your links at the moment but perhaps Modeselektor? I tend to like a lot of the techno on the bpitch label, which is in general a bit dark and completely devoid of cheese. Happy hunting!

Re: DJ looking for original Techno
sorry we don't do tracks for now...
we only play live and are too lazy to sit and arrange and mix the hell out of it.
We'll keep you updated when we produce some tracks

Thanks smutek! That was awesome. But not what I was looking for. This one is to hardcore/tunnel/rave. I need it to fit into nice n cosey "underground" clubs, while still have some edge and bite. I have jazz musicians jaming with me from time to time, and need minimal tracks with space. Its a wide but open audience.

Awesome! Very nice video!
Keep em coming !
@supamonsta: some nice stuf in there for sure.

Yeah Sunil's new EP has two killer tracks on it, the other two are also good but two are amaze-balls!

Re: DJ looking for original Techno
Beatport is your friend for this sort of stuff.
Check out Joseph Capariti. I particularly like Galaxy Express LINK It's pretty dark and dry, sounds like just the sort of stuff you're after.
Other artists to check out.. Adam Beyer - always a techno mainstay.
Sasha Carassi - slightly less well known but turning out some very original tunes.
Spektre - more towards the lighter end, but again, very original and innovative.
If you check out these guys, the labels they release on and the collaborations they work with, you'll soon find many more artists and start to get a feel for yourself about who you're interested in.
