OT: Berlin

Post by bogh » Thu Jul 07, 2005 5:29 pm

Hey everybody,

Sorry for the OT, but I thought I might be able to find some people on this forum from Berlin.

My girlfriend and I are heading to Berlin for e week of vacation, and we thought we'd try to catch some live music, while we're there...
So please recomend some venues/clubs to check out for live music (rock, electronic etc...). If they have a website, even better!

Any other recomendations as to what we can do, while we're in Berlin 18th-26th of July are very welcome.

Thanks!
:D

Great topic.

Where can I find some great vinylstores in berlin? I'm mostly interested in electro and deephouse. Thanks.

Check out dense at Danziger Strasse. Greatest record shop in my opinion.

Space Hall, Bergmanstrasse

hardwax, paul lincke ufer

also words goes around that there is this kind of illegal more gay oriented club somewhere in east berlin that has very heavy bassline driven techno. I know a few people who have been there (not gay) and they had the time of their lives.

maby ask around.

Ever seen the movie 'High Fidelity' with John Cusack? Most recordstore salesmen are like that, they know where its at, they're just to lazy to tell you ...

hi!
the weeks after loveparade weekend are usually always little more quiet when it comes to partying so at the moment the only interesting event whilst your stay will be tanith's "pingpongnacht" @ nbi on the 21st.
the illegal club someone was talking about is not illegal. it's name is berghain/panoramabar. in my very personal opinion the best club around at the moment. on saturdays many gay people around what makes up for the best party you'll ever be able to encounter!!!
feel free to check out my website cause i usually put the most interesting events online.
though many things are announced very close to the date of the event you should search the web on the two days before your travel.
if the weathers' fine make shure to check out some of the beachbars like "oststrand" at the eastside gallery. cool beer, people, musik, atmoshere.
last advise - best time to arrive at any of the clubs will be around one am what is not to late for a usual berlin club night :-)
cheers

hey, whenever i go to berlin i visit a strange place which, i'm sure, even most of berliners doesen't know it exists. it's a bar which is opened only at wednesdays after midnight. it's called Sniper and it's placed in passage in Rosenthaler strasse. the one where Dense was placed a couple of years ago, together with really good book/comics shop which name i forgot. the shop is still there though - second floor.

back to the Sniper - they are playing really weird movies all night long, and the best thing is that you can buy some "funny" cookies over there. for drinks, they serve only a strange shnaps and chinese bear. hope you'll find it and check it out. it's awesome! :P

well..in berlin clubs are good for winter,,autumm..none of them are really good per se.. is most that some clubs have nice partys from time to time..

the best of the music in berlin are not in the clubs,,is on the underground partys, sometimes in some clubs..

in summer the best is the open air fest/party..

as the time today..the next best open air party in whole berlin is Nation of Gondwana, the line up clearly reflects the best of berlin's underground sound..

and the location is just beatiful..a lake in the middle of the forest..cool

www.pyonen.de

for those who are around..don't miss it..

That looks really good. Too bad it's the weekend before we arrive.
