@parable66 > Hey I'm in that selection article !
pretty cool indeed. selection n°17 this makes my day already.
Re: A beat the clock competition with a Jury !
you need to realize that contests are promotional tools for the companies that put them on. the most votes=the most people exposed to ableton and soundcloud in some way. they win a prize thats cheaper than advertising. do you think anyone actually gives a shit about these remix's other than the people that entered? if so, then your trapped in a bubble.
Re: A beat the clock competition with a Jury !
sounds like it should be top 50! not top 25!

I don't need no class about advertising. (Hey teacher ! leave us kids alone ! Yeah. Well there is good publicity and bad publicity.
Ever heard of macdonald putting a page like "post your best moments at Mcdonald"... they ended up with only bad experiences and jokes...not much of a publicity.
It's a remix contest it's oriented directly at their (would-be) clients. (if their future clients are just disappointed about it... )
Nah, I keep Faith
We're just putting all our hopes and observations here.
And by the way "trapped in a bubble" coulb be a cool title for a song...

Hey guys,
I figured since Beat The Clock is over I'd upload my submission for free DL on BandCamp.
Also when you download this release you'll get a bonus pdf file with some free bonus material download links to:
1. The Ableton Project File for this project; and
2. Official remix stems to my track 'Router' from my latest album 'Focus'.
Thanks again to everyone that voted! I appreciate it a lot!

Ah I see another one that doesn't need class about advertising.
Anyone has an Idea when is the anouncment due ?

I'd give them as much time as they need. Lets let them get this right? Why would ableton want to seriously show off the majority of the 80% votes to listens ratios to the world? That in my mind, would make my company look bad.erikomic wrote:Ah I see another one that doesn't need class about advertising.

Re: A beat the clock competition with a Jury !
yeah, it's getting creepy how much negativity around this. Maybe every contestants should mention their voting sources in detail..like I'm also a writer of some popular novels with an FB page of more than 25K members https://www.facebook.com/novelcintaku and it's weird if they support me on this contest. And as if the communities from your country supporting you, it's all weird for no twit from the related page, because like there are no other sources such as group, page, twitter of the community and others. If you should really know, The web site was just launched on June https://www.facebook.com/events/155411494590159/ even the documentation was posted on Ableton's wall https://www.facebook.com/ableton/posts/421900474499128 and those people who posted are the site admins. How many posters do you expect from a new web site?erikomic wrote:message from the actual 2nd you're talking aboutif you go the site it looks like an official ableton site (!!?)(what the f*ck is doing an official page supporting this contest.thanks man..for people who wonder how I reach here..I just want to say thank you to the big family of Ableton User Group in Indonesia http://www.abletonindo.com/?p=293 also for the supporter of my music and our ancestor's heritage, Gamelan http://inabizz.com/blog/94-support-gamelan-go-global you are the best and I really appreciate it.
But then if you stroll trough pages it seems to be a fake one.
Almost every page from this Ableton User group starts with the support to GAMELAND and no post older than May. ?
All is posted from the guy in question and some other name. None has been tweeted. Nothing has been commented. What is this crazy thing ? Links to SAE. ABleton. Videos. And photos of "supporting fans" ?
This begins to feel all fake and it gets creepy.
What do you think about?

allright allright, I'll shut *p and wait like a brave puppy. But I forgot to mention Negativity is my middlename...
But this "popularity" contest is completly biased by people that have 15K followers and all.
And I still don't see why an ableton official page from any country should support one of their members. It's not a world cup or so...

I'm going to have to disagree with that list especially the #1 choice.
Anyways, there is also another cheater I caught. He had 206 votes with only 12 followers when previous day he had 6 votes. I then said something to him and all of a sudden his 200 votes disappeared but he was left with 100 or so votes. However, it didn't stop there.... as soon as the contest was getting closer to ending his votes started jumping 20-30 a day. He is now in 18th place, his number is 63 and still has something like 15 followers.
I also then realized cheating was so simple that anyone can do it. All they have to do is use a proxy, create an account and vote for your own track. Need an email? Use the fake 10 minute emails like 10minutemail.com and wala. wash rinse repeat (there are more sites that give out fake emails). The other way is to buy the votes that I found out from someone who sent me a message on soundcloud.
I don't believe in cheating because you are only cheating yourself. You are either good at music or you just suck. I really hope Ableton takes a good listen and look at the tracks.
Re: A beat the clock competition with a Jury !
Anyone notice the change of votes people that cheated have? Also there is a new "top 25". I don't understand why they are not disqualified when they got caught cheating. That's just not fair.
