Serious problems with midi map, please help.

Post by bodynsoul » Sat Jun 16, 2012 7:37 am

Sorry if this is not the right place.
I'm having serious problems with the map as a midi automap 4.0 (Novation) in Ableton Live.

I would use the Novation Zero SL MKII without the automap and sign the buttons on my way, with version 3.4 it was still possible. After the update I could not anymore.

I search on various topics in the Novation site but without success. All the answers and videos talking about older versions...
Can anyone help me with this issue with a basic configuration of signing the buttons and faders on my own?

Currently clicking midi (blue) I try to sign the buttons but they do not respond more ...

I'm using ABleton Live 8.2.8
Automap 4.0

Thank you guys for help!

Hi,

The Sl MkII uses an advanced template to communicate directly with Live. This template is active when Automap is off (i.e. when the 'automap' button is not lit). Automap is only really used for controlling third-party Automap enabled plug-ins within Live. Therefore your do not need to use Automap to control Lives transport, mixer and devices.

I recommend running through the software setup for Live. To access this click on the Automap 'A' symbol then select 'Software Setup' from the menu. On a Mac the 'A' symbol is located at the top right-hand corner of the screen. On a PC the 'A' symbol is on the task bar. Click on 'Ableton Live 8' in the list on the left-hand side. Select 'Sl MkII - Zero Sl MkII' from the drop down menu within the 'Setup Wizard' then click on 'Setup Live'. You will now be taken through the setup process.

Once you have setup Live ensure that all of you plug-ins are un-ticked in Automap's plug-in manager which is located in 'Software Setup'. You can now uninstall Automap.

I hope that this helps. If you have any further questions please contact Novation Technical Support using the contact form on the Novation Answerbase.

With regard to the MIDI mapping issues you are having it would be useful for us to take a look at your MIDI Sync preferences.

I can't remap buttons, only the sliders... It was possible to do this with a older version. After de upgrade on mac, I can't find any chance to make this work fine... I just need remap buttons on my way... that's It.
