Ableton 7 - latency issue after loading second track

Ello folks,

problem: I get midi input latency ONLY after loading a second new track...why?

I recently installed my existing version of Ableton 7 onto a new, much faster PC laptop than my previous, which is now pushing 2 1/2 years old.

I'm continuing to use the same sound cards (i alternate between Saffire 6 USB and the Novaio Nio 2|4) and have the latest drivers. I also use the ASIO4all drivers.

I am unable to find a combination of card and/ or drivers which prevents the latency creeping in. The odd thing is; when I load the first track into Ableton, I get almost no latency. However, once I load a second, or sometimes a third track, the latency creeps in.

I never had this issue on my older, slower laptop too, by the way.

Anybody else had similar or got any tips for how this might be eliminated?
