Cut and Paste/Editing/Help!

i have been using live off and on for a while now,but never needed to properly edit samples or clips.
How do i cut and paste a sample,is it as simple as other sequencers where by you just highlight part of a waveform and then cut out the bit you dont want and then paste it onto other samples.Or is it a lot different, i hope someone can help me out.

you do that in the arranement view. you unfold the track and then edit by select, cut and paste. use ctrl-e to split. you can make LIVE write a new audio file by "consolidating" (ctrl-j).
