You started a lounge thread concerning peoples views on the authenticity of newer electronic live music over more established live forms.rikhyray wrote:Mongo beat - you live up to your name indeed. Stop trolling my thread! First I thought you were ignorant, deaf with no clue of what music is, anything audible neither anything even in loose relationship to recording industry. The repeated absurdities that you spread over these pages convinced me that you are trying to provoke others, since it seems virtually impossible that someone could be so ignorant about music, recording and the audio industry. You better be careful about pretending what you might not really be, acting like an imbecil you maybe really turned into one.
Kindly start your own thread and continue your mongo tirades there.
In the thread title you use the terms 'bitch fight' and 'get some popcorn'. I like to think that I have contributed to both of your requests. Apologies if this has been upsetting for you. Perhaps be careful what you ask for in future.
You see, it's that magical interaction between passionate human beings that makes The Lounge such an authentic experience over the clinical, sterile, soulless Music & Production threads. In fact I would argue that people come to The Lounge due to, percentage wise:
30% - boredom
30% - a platform for their own bigoted opinions (check!)
30% - putting someone who seems arrogant/patronising/objectionable in their place (check!)
10% - the actual subject or 'debate' itself

I'll stop trying to justify my ignorant 'opinions' on the subject you started a thread about when people stop trying to tell me I'm dead wrong. Because I'm not.rikhyray wrote:Funny is not same as stupid, repeating same ignorant "opinions" has zero entertaining value - this is not thread run by Endemol - idiocy is not funny or entertaining. And I think you know I have a point really, don't you? But it makes you uncomfortable to admit it, for some reason. That's why you make no attempt at counter argument. You have no real conviction other than annoyance. Wheras I do. And so do some others I have locked horns with.
As regards how upset you are continuing to get, I'd say you need to chill a bit. Yoga is good.

Mongo, you are just obnoxious, you could provoke only those with lesser or none of knowledge and experience in the field of music, recording industry. Your "opinions" are all unsubstantial non sense.
Neither me, neither this thread, forum can compensate for your obvious, genuine needs of attention, care, possibly psychologist or psychiatrist assistance. Internet is not cure for mental and social alienation.

That's me positively humbled and downright ashamed of myself. If only someone had interjected with such truth earlier, this thread may have been a quarter of its length.
You the man, rikhyray!

Whatever issues Gerald has, overconsumption of coffee might be least of his problems.

That was stupid of me to say and obviously out of context especially as I know racist generalisation 1st hand. I mean, you can see me coming a mile off. Anyway I’m sorry for causing disharmony. It was only about music. Don’t know where the nuke shit came from – maybe too many coffees.

They are I guess I got bored a long time ago.Mint Invader wrote:Were still talking about this?
You know you could spend portions of your life in pointless circular arguments with people on the internet?
or
You could go see a bunch of great live music with that time.
Re: "Bitch fight"- DeadMau5,Skrillex&co-get some popcorn
But that's not even close to what you originally said.beatmunga wrote: Plenty of people who appear to like live music seem to agree in this thread that worrying too much about sound quality is missing the point of a potentially great night out.
I don't think anyone agreed it was 80% about fame and 2% about music, did they?
And sound quality can make or break a night out. Not the be all and end all perhaps. But quite important. If you went to gigs, you'd appreciate that.

Gosh, aren't some Ableton users a surprisingly conservative bunch?
Whoder thunk it. Not a single person thinking I have a point (however crassly delivered).
A real eye opener.

'Gigs' are things that Uncles go to, aren't they? In their jeans with a belt and a shirt tucked in.

Sorry shadx312, I realise that you did eventually concede that some music sounds better on the studio recording than live, but with the caveat that you have experienced plenty of small punky bands that don't. In other words, pretty much the same view as machinesworking.
However, after getting a bit bogged down in sound quality, the point of my original facetious percentage list has been lost (although the penny was starting to drop for andydes). As ricky ray seems upset by me hijacking his thread and turning it from his 'has been electronic producer has a rant at a young, successful one' effort into a discussion of the merits of live music in general, I've taken his charming advice and started a new one, if anyone cares to contribute.

Since when DJs playing records become "live" music? Also there's little reason why live music can't sound as good as music recorded in a studio, could easily use the same microphones and outboard, just there's little point in risking a £1k+ condenser microphone.
